Notes
Coming off his super fun Europe Tour, Jed Luckless returns to the stage for the 5th Anniversary Celebration at Gonjaland, kicking off a weekend of music with two sets of original rock music and an amazing light show in Secondlife!
The show opens with the energetic "Back Again" which gets the crowd jumping righ off the bat. In the second slot is the more relaxed "All The Same," followed in third by the GuRGLe era blueser "Black Molly." The galloping pair of "One And" and "Ride With The Devil" make their run next, with the prog-rocker "Multiply" up next, which spawns the first epic jam of the evening. It's an uptempo improv with a bouncy backbeat, smooth guitar lines and some nice synth work. Jed segues into the Gonjaland appropriate "Ten Ounces" to close the set.
Second set begins with another venue appropriate song, "Brother Love," which uncharacteristically opens up into the longest jam of the night, a twenty-seven minute powerhouse that starts out funky then lifts off into a melodic, major bliss key change before a seamless transition into "Far Gone Blues." The support call inspired "On Hold" is up next, a nice palate cleanser for the jam, followed by the pretty "Oh My Star" from Jed's 'Luna Suite.' The bluesy, folkster "Listen To The Angels" rises next, followed by the epic tale of "The Kid That Tried To Fly," always a high energy way to close a show. A short AC/DC encore had the crowd singing along to "Highway To Hell."
This is a tight show with a great setlist and a couple of powerhouse jams. The whole show has a great energy and flow to it and it's filled with some of the less frequently played Jed-riginals. Definitely a must listen! Enjoy!
